This week
we were busy with the film festival.
There was a lot of work that went into the films we premiered and it the
audience reactions were great. There were
a couple films that I thought were a bit cheesy, but for the most part everyone
did great. I didn’t really like how a
majority of the films were depressing, after a while it started getting a bit
pretentious. Either way, they were all
done very well whether they were comedies, horror, or PSA’s. I can’t wait for next weeks afterschool film
festival and I expect a great turnout.

Week of June 12th
This week,
we had our film festival and I heard that our film made it in. They apparently screened it during 4th
period, which was the only one I didn’t see, but I also heard that it was well
received and people liked it. Now we
just need to finish up our last movie and have Brandon turn in the one he was
working on. After that, we’ll be all
caught up with our films and we won’t have to worry about anything
anymore. Hopefully we can film the last
few shots we need and edit them in time before the final deadline next week.

June 6
This
week was a huge breakthrough: we actually finished our first movie (a party is
in order.) It took us several
weeks, but after all that time I can honestly say that we’ve made something
that we can be proud of. This film
looks great and tells a decent story.
It is original and shows both our skills as actors, but as writers and
directors as well. We are still
currently working on our comedy in class and we hope to finish that soon
enough. So far we have a lot of
film so we really only need a few more shots until we’re done. I think it’s going to be great, not
film festival great, but great as a nice little inside joke between us and
everyone else in film.

Week of May 29th
This week we’re
making a lot of progress. We decided
that we needed to film something in class, so that we can constantly work on
something even when we don’t have any film to edit. So, we picked something easy and relatable: a
comedy based on how NOT to pass film class.
The idea is comedy gold, and since we already know how NOT to pass film,
it’ll be a walk in the park. Moreover,
we finished shooting our first film yesterday afterschool. All we need now is to edit that last bit and
keep it in time with the song and then we can turn it in. Then with Brandon’s film, and the one we’re
filming in class, we can have all three of our films finished.

Week of May 22nd
We’ve been
facing several setbacks this week. In between
people skipping film shoots for other projects and having to work or go to a
prior arrangement, we haven’t been able to film at all. We have, however, edited everything we have
so far. The film is coming out nicely
and I look forward to adding in the last few scenes. If we could just get a good day to film, we
should be able to knock out the last part fairly quickly. The only problem is finding a decent time and
getting all the props together. These
are small logistic problems, but we’ve had worse, it is pretty stressful
though.

Week of May 15th
We are
slowly piecing together our film. We’ve
been running into several complications as far as timing and trying to schedule
when we meet. AP’s have been taking up a
lot of our time, but now that they are done, we should have a lot more time to
work. Our film is more than 50% underway
and now we just need a few more shots.
Most of our trouble is coming from props and getting everything ready
beforehand. It’s happened too many times
where we are at our location, all ready to film, everything is set up, and we
realize we’re missing a prop or someone is running late. Every little complication has a huge impact
on our schedule, but we’re close, almost done.

Week of May 8
This week
we didn’t get as much done as we thought.
With AP tests coming up its getting harder and harder to get everyone
together in one place to plan out what we’re going to do. Luckily, the tests will all be over soon and
we will be able to film more. Brandon is
making progress with his film and we are about halfway through getting the footage
for my film idea. Editing is proving to
be more difficult on the updated iMovie, but we should get everything down in a
few days. We are going to film today,
get everything over with as soon and as well as possible and try to move on to
our next project.
